Who Invented Christmas?

Question:On December 25 people will celebrate Christmas. They say that it is the birthday of Christ. But I really doubt that it is the birthday of Christmas especially that month and year of the birth of Christ is not mentioned in the Bible. So my question is: who invented Christmas?

Answer:

It is true that the month, year and date of the birth of Christ is not mentioned in the Bible. It is not even mentioned in any other books. But if we would examine the Bible, we would learn that Christ was born during the time of the decree of Caesar Augustus:
And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that ll the world should be registered. (Luke 2:1, New King James Version)
During that time, the shepherds were watching their flocks outside.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. (Luke 2:8, New King James Version)
These are the hints when was the birth of Christ.

We couldn't find document that would tell us the real date of the time when Caesar Augustus decreed such decree. But by considering what the shepherds did during that time, we could tell that Christ was born not during the winter time. And we already know it is winter time during December, and the flock couldn't stay outside of the field during winter. In other words, December is not the real month when Christ was born.

So, who really invented Christmas?

Christmas actually is derived from the words, "Christ" and "Mass". We could find the term "Christ" in the Bible but the term "Mass" is no where in it. The term "Mass" is originally a Catholic term, and therefore, "Christmas" is merely an invention of the Roman Catholic Church.
