Answer:
You should make your claim clear. When you said Christ and His Father are one, what do you mean by that?
Do you mean, Christ and His Father one in number? If that's what you are thinking about, here's the answer of Christ:
16But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid. (John 8:16-17, NIV)From that pronouncement, Christ clearly revealed that He and His Father are not one in number. Christ said, "I am not alone. I stand with the Father." In other words, Christ and His Father are two individuals.
Or maybe, you want to tell us that Christ and His Father are one God? Hmm... I think you already read my previous answer. And it is clear that Christ's said that there is one true God, and the one true God referred to by Christ is His Father.
Or maybe you are telling me that Christ and His Father are one in person? Well, if you'll examine the verses below you'll realize that Christ is not the Father and the Father is not the Son.
11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctifya]">[a] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. And from those verses you'll notice also that Christ said, "Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one." In other words, the way wherein Christ and the Father are one is the same way that Christ wanted to happen to his followers.
20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:(John 17:11-22, NIV) (John 17:11-22, NIV)
Therefore: My answer to the previous question raised, "Is there other God except the one true God?", is applicable to Christ and the Father, that Christ even if He is the Son of God but He is not God like the true God who is the Father.
