What's the difference between SUNG and SANG?

I am confused on how to use the word sang and sung. What's the difference of the two words? Please give me example on how to use them.

Answer

Sang is the past tense of Sing. While Sung is the perfect tense of Sing.


  • Present Tense: I sing a song.
  • Past Tense: Yesterday, I sang a song.
  • Future Tense: I will sing a song this afternoon.
  • Present Perfect Tense: I have sung a song before.
  • Past Perfect Tense: I had sung a song before.
  • Future Perfect Tense: Tomorrow, I will have sung a song.
