1. Links. Link is considered by search engine as vote. Once a website earn links from other websites, the search engine consider the links as vote. These votes are used by search engines in ranking website on the search engine result pages or SERP.

2. Keywords. Keywords used in a webpage is also examined by the search engine and they are used in ranking websites at SERP.
