This is base on the report saying that the Coca-Cola tested it own juice products and that of the competitors and they found out that they contains a small amount of fungicide. Should I Change Religion for my soon-to be Husband?

I was raised Catholic and I really love practicing my religious duties and conviction. Last January 2011, I meet the man who taught me to love. I love him so much.

It was June 2011 when we got into a relationship. He cared for me so much and he showed me in every ways how he really loves me.

In July, he told me to change my religion to his. He is a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Since that time, I really am really confused what to do. Should I change my religion for him, or should I stay in my religion and he will change his religion for me.

But, he told me that he couldn't change his religion. He even told me that asking me to change my religion is his other way of showing that he loves me.

I understand what you feel.

Actually, you'll not be confused what to do if you will open up your mind for the religion. Why not try to examine their religion by attending their seminar on doctrines? That's the best step you need to do first before deciding what to do. After all, it's a biblical teaching to examine the teaching of any religion to know whether it is of God or not for you to make sure that you'll be walking on the path towards salvation.

When I say examining a religion, I really mean studying their doctrines by attending a seminar on their doctrine. And then compare the teachings of your current religion to his religion. Then after doing this, and you'll find out that there will be nothing wrong if you'll join them, then why not do that? But if you think that their teachings are not of God, then why join their religion?

But you need to understand that active members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, or those who accepted and understand its doctrines will never change their religion just for a girlfriend or boyfriend or loveones or work. They are the type of members that give priorities to their spiritual obligations. Most of them abandon their obligations at work just to attend their worship services.

But in the case of your boyfriend, it is true that he really loves you. Inviting you to change your religion is one of the ways that show his love to you. He simply wants you to be saved on judgment day for his belief is that outside the true Church of Christ, there is no salvation. He simply wants you to serve the true God, because he believes that outside the true Church of Christ is worshiping the false gods.

It might be true that there are couples who became successful in terms of spiritual life even if they have different religion. What I mean, the husband is affiliated with a certain sect different from the sect that the wife goes with. But I don't think you'll get married if you will not change your religion to his religion because in the INC, members are prohibited to marry non-members.

I can say that the fight is well controlled by Floyd who has a higher percentage of accuracy compared to his opponent.

I also watched the fight last Sunday here in the Philippines. But I choose to watch it via Satellite than via pay-per-view. I am not really the fan of these two fighters.

Now, regarding on how Floyd Mayweather Jr knocked out Victor Ortiz... Well, there is nothing wrong with it. Officially, the time for the fight was called by the referee in which means that the fight will start again as to finish the round.

The only problem is that the referee failed to properly start the fight just like what most of the referee have done when signaling the two fighters to continue the halted fight for a particular round.

Even if the referee has shortcoming, Victor Ortiz has forgotten the very rule in boxing while inside the ring, that is to protect self always.

I have persistently invited by a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo church. I have not give in on his first attempt to invite me to attend the so called "GEM" or Grand Evangelical Mission. But in his second attempt I answered him my YES. I attended a GEM.

During the GEM, the Pastor explained that there's no other way to attain salvation but to become part of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. I was disturbed by what the Pastor told us during the GEM, so I did a research in the internet about the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

In my search for the information about the Iglesia Ni Cristo, I found many discussions in the internet. There are those who accuse the Iglesia Ni Cristo as murderer.

My question is this: Is it really true that the Iglesia Ni Cristo is a murderer religion?

Iglesia Ni Cristo is a Christian religion. And just like the other Christian religion that exist today, it promotes love not just within the church but also to the outside of the church.

However, it is true that there are members of the church who committed the crime. Few of them are those convicted in killing several victims inside their chapel (locale's house of worship i.e. the chapel of Hinunangan Locale).

But even if there are members of the said church who committed the crime, it doesn't mean that the entire church committed the crime as explained by a blogpost, Iglesia Ni Cristo members:

But if you are an open minded person, you couldn’t accuse the whole church of the crime committed by few especially that one of the teachings or doctrines of the Iglesia Ni Cristo told its members to live the life that is in accordance to the will of God. God prohibits its children to commit murder, so the Iglesia Ni Cristo prohibits it too.

To make it more clear, let us take the case of many Catholics who are now in jail. 80 percent of the Catholics or members of the Roman Catholic Church who are jailed committed different crimes. Yet majority of the translations translated the part: "You are my Lord and my God!" of the Contemporary English Version as: "My Lord and My God." In other words, Thomas on that verses, was not teaching nor preaching.

Thomas Called Christ His Lord and His God

However, in John 20, it is clear that Christ claimed to God.

To story is this: When Thomas touched Christ and his wounds, Thomas said, "My Lord and My God." Then answered, "Thomas, because you have seen me you believe me. Blessed those who haven't seen me but believed me."

If Christ didn't claim that He is God then he should not said "you have seen me that's why you believed me" after Thomas called him "Lord and God".

Before I will answer your question or argument, let us first quote the verses:

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

Here's my thought:

First, I can't say that the God that Thomas believed is Christ. Why? It's because in John 17:1-3, the only true God that Christ introduced to his apostles and followers is the Father. Here's the verses:

1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[a] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Notice what Christ said: "... that they [people, disciples, apostles, or followers] may know you [Father], the only true God."

So, for sure, when Thomas said "My God", he was not referring Christ because he knew who was the only true God.

And when Christ said to Thomas, "you believed because you have seen me", it is not to agree with what Thomas had said which is "My Lord and My God" but it's about the resurrection of Christ. Read again the quoted verses and notice that the topic is not about the divinity of Christ but about the resurrection of Christ.

So, when Christ said, "you believed because you have seen me", it is just to tell Thomas that he believed that Christ had risen just because he had seen him in person.

Christ Claimed He is God in John 10:35-36

35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken).
36 "do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

Actually, Christ did not claim that He is God. What He claimed is that He is the son of God.

In that verses, Christ simply explained that there's nothing wrong if He will say that He is the son of God, just like when those people whom the word of God came as quoted by Christ were called gods.

Actually, it's the jews who mistook that Christ was claiming to be a God when he said He is the Son of God. They didn't understand that claiming to be the son of God didn't mean that he is claiming to be God.

To let you know, claiming to be the Son of God doesn't mean claiming to be God. Don't you remember who is the true God that Christ introduced? In John 17:1-3, it is His Father who is only the true God according to Christ. And Christ wanted his disciples to have that belief.

Then if for Christ, the Father is the only true God, then it also means that there is no other God besides His Father. If there are those who are called gods, those gods are not true God because the Father is the only true God.
